Working with our Environmental Services group, Chitat is known for blending his strong technical skills with a practical, field‑informed approach. He works across mapping, spatial analysis, database design, modelling, and integrating CAD and tabular data into geographic information systems (GIS). His project experience spans oil and gas, mining, transmission lines, site assessments, remediation, and natural baseline studies.
Chitat has provided long‑term GIS support for environmental assessments and site remediation programs for federal and municipal clients, including Defence Construction Canada, the City of Ottawa, and the Department of National Defence. With a background in vegetation surveys, restoration work, and environmental reporting, he believes GIS should make complex information clearer, more accessible, and more useful for decision‑making.
Outside of work, Chitat embraces the outdoors year‑round—cross‑country skiing and skating in winter, then biking and fishing in summer. He also enjoys cooking and following sports, from the NFL to Formula 1.
