As an operations leader, Matthew serves as a connector across our Environmental Services team in the Pacific Northwest. His goal? To support collaboration, growth, and excellence. In an additional role, Matthew serves as Stantec’s resilience leader in the West, where he seeks to expand our services to support thriving communities in the face of shocks (acute events such as earthquakes or floods) and stresses (chronic conditions that make shocks worse such as climate conditions and aging infrastructure). He’s worked with multiple levels of government, from municipal to international, in sectors including water, healthcare, energy, and community development.
With a focus in the emergency management field, Matthew aims to provide solutions that are as adaptive as his clients. He’s proud of his ability to work creatively and to do more than check a regulatory box—to truly improve programs to protect life and safety in communities. He’s currently collaborating with clients to reframe traditional emergency management into community operations plans that will foster community ownerships of readiness and resilience.
When he isn’t at work, you’ll probably find him in the kitchen, his happy place as a wannabe foodie and home cook. He loves to try out new recipes, though he says nothing can compare to the Indian takeout from next door. His next ambition? Gardening with his partner in their new back yard.
