Part of our Water team as a senior dams engineer and team leader, Jaretha started her engineering career in South Africa. She’s been involved in several dam engineering projects on both a national and international scale—spending two years on a dam construction site in Mozambique as the assistant resident engineer, gaining experience in site supervision and quality management for dam civil works.
Jaretha’s main responsibilities include the preparation of dam safety documentation, design of dam infrastructure—embankment dam design, spillway sizing, energy dissipation structures, river diversion works, and outlet works—preparing of tender documentation, and compiling of technical project reports. She also has a passion for hydraulics and is currently developing her computational fluid dynamic (CFD) skillset using Simcentre Star CCM+ software.
When she’s not at work on water resources related projects, Jaretha enjoys activities in her spare time that include anything from golf, snorkeling, and jiu jitsu to painting and spending time with her husband and pets.
