As an environmental planner, project manager, sector lead, and member of the Canadian Diversity and Inclusion Council, Charles has varied responsibilities. He helps clients meet their environmental regulatory responsibilities and commitments, manages client relationships, internal resources, and our external brand, and works to grow our business in Western Canada.
When he joined Stantec, Charles wasn’t out—and that single fact distracted him from being the best employee he could be. As he came to realize that his team was inclusive and safe, Charles was able to flourish and dedicate so much more of his energy to his work. As part of our Diversity and Inclusion Council, his mission is to give our employees the best possible chance to be their most engaged, creative, effective, and fulfilled selves.
Known for his hearing support and work with National Energy Board pipeline applications for large oil and gas pipeline projects, Charles recently represented Stantec for TransCanada regarding the North Montney Mainline. He also helped lead our entry in the 2017 Calgary Pride Parade, an event that helped launch the Pride@Stantec employee resource group in Calgary.
From alpine skiing to horseback riding and soccer, Charles’s passions outside of work revolve around being active and spending time with his partner, his family, and his friends. Over the next decade, Charles plans to grow the environmental services business (with a global focus) while also supporting diversity and inclusion internally and within the community.
