Amanda Matkosky

Environmental Scientist

Photo of Amanda

With a passion for watersheds and remediation, Amanda strives to find ways to reduce our impact and right past wrongs on the environment. She finds great satisfaction in studying the impacts of legacy phosphorus and seeing derelict properties revitalized, providing new resources and opportunities to the communities they once blighted.

Amanda has conducted site investigations, regulatory monitoring and reporting, and surface water quality research in a variety of settings. She also serves as an assistant health and safety coordinator for our New York Environmental Services group, providing training and project safety support—a nod to her time as a science teacher.

Amanda enjoys spending her time doting on her two parrots or exploring nature trails with her husband and riding their tandem bicycle. She’s always looking to take on a cooking challenge in the kitchen, with canning, fermenting, smoking, and using a sous vide being regular weekend events.
