Pete has always been an outdoorsman. When he started his career in design, he found it hard to sit behind a desk all day—his manager suggested he try construction engineering and inspection to meet his love of the outdoors and build his career in civil engineering. Pete gave it a try and never looked back.
Aside from the fresh air, Pete’s favorite part of the job is being able to solve problems practically for the good of the client and the community. For example, on the SR-710 project, an eight-foot perimeter wall was to be built in front of residential homes, dividing the community. By coordinating closely with the City’s Engineer, Public Works Director and Councilwoman Davis-Johnson, Pete and his team were able to remove the wall from the construction plans, saving the client approximately $850,000 dollars as well as keeping the community whole.
When he’s not at work, you can find him playing golf, catching a sports game, or spending time with his wife and two daughters.
