Lauren is a geotechnical engineer who views sustainability as a win-win for the mining industry. She believes the benefits of sustainable action are not only felt by our planet and the communities we work in, but also by the industry itself.
Using her Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) certification, Lauren applies the concepts of sustainability to her everyday work. She focuses on geotechnical evaluations and analyses as well as reclamation and closure designs for mine sites, tailings impoundments, and industrial waste. Lauren also supports our Sustainable Mining by Design initiative and contributes to improving our clients’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
Lauren’s enthusiasm for sustainability and the environment originates from a life spent largely in the outdoors, starting with family camping trips as a young child and continuing through backpacking, ultramarathon running, mountain biking, and skiing as an adult. She’s served community through volunteering for the Northern Colorado Branch of ASCE and is part of our employee resource group, Women@Stantec, in Colorado.
