Photo of Sharni

Originally joining Stantec as an electrical and streetlight designer in 2004, Sharni was made a Principal in 2014 and was appointed group leader for the underground power design team in 2019.  She has over 15 years experience in the design, documentation and contract administration for various underground power and street lighting projects, including redevelopment and regeneration of old industrial areas into prime residential developments.

Sharni is intimate with the policies and processes at Western Power (WP) having worked closely with their Construction and QA teams, and with 15 years’ experience in the industry, she has built excellent relationships with Local Authorities and has a deep understanding of the process; Sharni knows where to find the opportunities to explore efficiencies for a project, which processes can be challenged and is happy to negotiate the best outcome possible for the project.

Sharni is a dedicated and responsive team member who will take ownership of the project, working collaboratively to achieve common goals.  She takes an active role within the construction industry, championing client interests and is an active member of the UDIA Infrastructure Committee on which she has sat for the last 5 terms and continues to be instrumental in driving advocacy items in regard to Power, Lighting and communication matters.

When she isn’t working, she’s either off exploring the globe, spending quality time with her son or enjoying the front row at a rock concert.
