As a mechanical engineer and digital designer, Pedro’s role focuses mainly around developing parametric models for powerhouse designs. He makes models calibrated to as-built designs from previous projects and uses rule-based programming to get the model to dynamically adapt to project-specific parameters. Translation? Fast, high-quality drawings as well as materials and equipment quantities for proposals or feasibility studies.
This has made Pedro pretty popular with Stantec team members all over the world. As the demand for these parametric designs grows, he’s focusing on building an intuitive user interface that will allow anyone in the Company to select their desired models from a design library. They can quickly adjust it to match their project’s requirements and automate a large amount of work.
