Laura is a practice leader and principal restoration ecologist with our Environmental Services - Water group. She draws on more than three decades of experience helping resource agencies and project partners advance ecological restoration, habitat conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable land management across California. She believes successful projects balance environmental stewardship with practical design solutions.
With a focus on ecological restoration of native habitats, streams, coastal areas, and wetlands, Laura develops plans that incorporate resiliency to climate change, Indigenous wisdom, and other essential aspects of natural resources land management. She has led multidisciplinary teams on projects ranging from floodplain restoration along the Carmel River and resource management for College Lake to levee improvements and living shoreline development on San Francisco Bay.
Away from ecosystem restoration work, Laura enjoys hiking the trails of the Presidio of San Francisco with her dog and husband and volunteering at the native nursery there. She also enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, spending time in the Sierra, and pretty much anything outdoors.
