As an environmental scientist, Katie has wide experience in site assessments, hazardous materials sampling, and brownfield site investigation and remediation. Her hands-on technical knowledge makes her a scientist who sees the whole picture—not only below and above the surface, but also in the field and in the office.
Katie’s technical ability and dedication to making sites safe for the community to enjoy are exemplified in her work. Among her most rewarding projects was Son House Apartments, a vacant lot with contaminated urban fill that was redeveloped into apartments for people dealing with substance abuse. She oversaw sampling and removal of the urban fill, an underground storage tank, and impacted soils, working with our in-house community development group.
When she isn’t at work overseeing site investigations, you’ll probably find Katie spending time on Keuka Lake or experimenting with new recipes. She loves to cook, and she’s passionate about using local products and cooking with the seasons. Whether she’s at work or at home, Katie’s still thinking about health and the environment.
