Stephen aims to create great cities that serve everyone through a cross-disciplinary understanding of transportation planning, public engagement, urban planning, and project management. He believes designing for the public good needs all perspectives and users at the table. By providing meaningful opportunities for engagement, a project generates enthusiasm, energy, and the connections needed for great public spaces.
As practice lead with our Smart(ER) Mobility team, Stephen works towards addressing equity and resilience through strong design principles and incorporating emerging technology. He employs these approaches through a range of transportation projects, including transportation master plans, transit planning, multimodal network complete street design and implementation.
Stephen is also a Transportation team lead in the Waterloo, Ontario office, and works on a variety of multimodal projects across Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Outside Stantec, he has over 20 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserves as a leader in the infantry, and as a communications and marketing specialist.
