Ben enjoys working on projects that require a thoughtful balance of regulatory compliance, environmental considerations, and practical design solutions—drawing on both his environmental science background and engineering training.
Serving as a hydrology and hydraulics discipline lead, Ben leads a small team designing stormwater and drainage solutions for infrastructure projects that protect both the traveling public and the environment. He also supports the bridge group by developing river and floodplain hydraulic models, focusing on drainage design, stormwater management, and water resources engineering.
Ben remains active in academia by teaching transportation engineering and highway design at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Teaching allows him to integrate real-world engineering experience into the classroom while reinforcing core design principles.
Outside of his professional and academic work, Ben enjoys hiking, camping, and playing bluegrass banjo. These interests reflect a personal commitment to environmental stewardship and a strong appreciation for natural landscapes, reinforcing the values that guide both his engineering work and broader career goals.
