Before transitioning into the private sector, Michelle worked as a program manager and senior transit planner for two transit agencies in the US and Canada. Her diverse portfolio includes self-driving shuttle studies, transit efficiency reviews, long term strategic plans, LRT/BRT corridor analysis, and systems integration with new services. She has created multiple regional transit systems from scratch, leading the service design, financial modeling, governance, and service delivery models.
Michelle has designed regional commuter systems that only require a few buses, collaborated on projects in large urban cities with several hundred vehicles, and everything else in-between. More recently, she is actively engaged in the discussion on the impacts of electrification, connected technology, and self-driving vehicles.
Out of Victoria, British Columbia, Michelle skillfully leads complex projects to approval through objective, values-based decision making, creative solutions and by making herself available to all stakeholders—at all times.
