A chartered engineer, Darragh has more than two decades of experience with a wide range of civil and environmental engineering projects. These projects range from water and wastewater services, waste management, landfill development and restoration, and natural gas network development. He also works on wastewater discharge license applications, planning applications, landowner negotiations, site investigation contracts, and flood risk assessments.
One of Darragh’s most memorable projects involved the completion of the new raw water intake for the Terryland Water Treatment Plant in Galway. It consisted of major civil engineering works including cofferdams and tunneling, all located in a sensitive urban riparian environment with multiple constraints. These constraints included limited land availability and works within the Lough Corrib Special Area of Concern (SAC), upstream of the historic salmon weir and adjacent to the 160-year-old original intake.
When he isn’t working on civil engineering projects, Darragh enjoys holidays in France with his family, going to the gym, and trying to play golf.
