Harish Painuly

Graduate Civil Engineering Technologist

Photo of Harish

In his role as a graduate civil engineering technologist, Harish assists in the planning, design, and construction oversight of three waters—drinking water, storm water, and wastewater—systems in the Wellington region. With water networks having life spans up to 100 years, his work helps to provide reliable and resilient water systems with minimum disruption to our clients, communities, and the environment.

Harish enjoys seeing a job through from start to finish—he loves seeing his designs come to life on site while he’s monitoring their construction. There’s a new challenge every day, keeping him interested and engaged. Working on the Kaitoke Flume Bridge Seismic Resilience Scheme, the replacement of a flume bridge that conveys about 50 percent of Wellington’s raw water, meant Harish got to manage all our correspondence between the contractor and subconsultant, do site inspections, and support senior engineers and project managers.

Future-focused, Harish wants to continue being exposed to different elements in engineering to gain more knowledge and experience across three waters projects. Outside of work, he’s a sports nut who immerses himself in soccer, cricket, and hiking.
