Nicholas, a senior civil engineer with our team in Chicago, has more than 42 years of experience in the planning, design and rehabilitation of locks, dams and wet infrastructure projects worldwide. He is also experienced in preparing and implementing reports, designs, construction plans and specifications for navigation, water resources, and environmental restoration projects.
With broad experience and technical acumen in navigation locks, drydocks, dredging, shoreline protection, flood control, waterfront development, and more, Nicholas has advised clients worldwide on a broad range of large-scale infrastructure programs, from conceptual planning and engineering through detailed design and construction. He has received commendations and awards for his work on the USACE-funded Chicago Shoreline Protection project, was a key contributor to the planning, design, and implementation of the Panama Canal Expansion Program, and has recently managed the design of two new drydocks for the US Navy. He is a Commissioner of the US Section of PIANC - the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure – and a Diplomate of Navigation Engineering of the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE).
