For Steve, conservation is the number one priority when strengthening and stabilizing existing structures at heavy industrial facilities. When power plants and paper mills near the end of their operational life, Steve’s rehabilitation work keeps facilities like these in service at times when they would otherwise be demolished and rebuilt.
As the structural engineering manager for our power group, Steve oversees a team of structural engineers and designers who specialize in the design of power projects. This includes the design of gas, biomass, and renewable power plants as well as electrical substations and support structures for environmental scrubbing equipment.
Steve’s technical background and expertise in the design of industrial steel structures and heavy machinery foundations provides the backbone that these facilities operate on. The necessary rehabilitation and reinforcement of these buildings keeps plants operational and in service to our communities.
