Project Manager

As a senior biologist and project manager, Trevor specializes in work related to renewable energy projects, bat migration, and rare species assessments. He has an undergraduate degree in biology and environmental studies from Bowdoin College and a PhD in ecology and environmental sciences from the University of Maine.

Dr. Peterson’s research and project work focuses on use of passive acoustic bat survey data to study bat migration and manage potential impacts from land-based and offshore wind projects, with a specific focus on design and evaluation of smart curtailment alternatives to minimize energy loss at commercial wind facilities. Since joining Stantec in 2003, Trevor’s project work has included vernal pool water quality and ecological monitoring, spotted turtle inventory and telemetry, vegetation monitoring, and various surveys related to bats, breeding birds, and raptors.

Outside of work, his top priority is spending time with his wife and two daughters. He’s also never short on hobbies: he plays violin in the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra, fiddle and mandolin in String Tide (a folk/Americana band), and performs with a contra dance band and other chamber ensembles when able.
