Sonja builds strong foundations, literally and figuratively. With almost a decade of experience, she manages and executes geotechnical programs from field investigations through analysis and reporting, while mentoring junior and intermediate staff, and shaping project staffing.
With a passion for planning and executing difficult, remote field programs, Sonja thrives when finding demand out of the box solutions and quick thinking. Honesty and integrity anchor her work, and continuous learning keeps her team at the forefront of evolving tools like remote landslide monitoring and sensing, predictive and design software, improved geosynthetics, and lightweight fills. In her current position, she focuses on geotechnical assessments and engineering for oil and gas and North‑of‑60 projects across the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
Sonja is passionate about mentorship, women in engineering, her family, and the great outdoors. Outside of work, she knits sweaters, crafts, explores with her dogs, and rides motorcycles. She also volunteers with APEGA, mentoring members‑in‑training.
