Hayden wears many hats—water capital expenditure delivery team lead, senior principal civil engineer, and project technical lead for water and wastewater projects, including pipelines and treatment plants. Additionally, he performs the role of engineer to contract or engineer's representative on construction projects, and for 2023 he’s working in our Pune, India office helping the New Zealand and Pune teams better connect to deliver projects for New Zealand.
Being able to solve problems with a great team of colleagues, clients, and contractors to deliver impactful solutions for the community is what Hayden likes most about his work. He appreciates how what we do as a team helps keep drinking water safe and resilient and keeps people protected from wastewater and stormwater. One such project is the Cross Harbour Pipeline Investigations project, that involved drilling into a freshwater aquifer below Wellington Harbour to ascertain whether it could successfully be an emergency water supply in the event of an earthquake.
Outside work, Hayden referees in the New Zealand National Basketball League, combining a love of travel and sport. He enjoys DIY and is currently renovating an old 1967 Zephyr caravan.
