Once when traveling, Keivan and his father, a civil engineering project manager, stopped by a completed project. He explained how it brought power and water to farmers in a remote community. The joy with which he spoke inspired Keivan to pursue a career where he too could better communities.
Keivan has worked on tunnel, mining, and ground improvement projects since 2001. He has been involved in projects across the globe including Asia, Australia, UK, the Middle East, and North America, bringing his expertise on tunneling methods, such as trenchless technologies, drill and blast, sequential excavation method, and large diameter tunnel boring machines (TBM). For projects involving TBM or microtunneling, he is involved in all stages from design and manufacturing to disassembly and extraction operations. He also possesses experience in all technical aspects of earth pressure balance and high pressure tunneling, both at the theoretical and operation levels.
Keivan is active in the industry with his frequent article publications in trade journals and presentations at various tunneling conferences.
