Luis has nearly 30 years of experience in the science and technology, mission-critical, and advanced manufacturing sectors. His experience includes BSL-2, BSL-3, ABSL-3, vivaria, clean rooms, manufacturing spaces, and petrochemical laboratory’ design, which often include intricate instrumentation and controls (I&C) strategies.
Emphasizing simplicity in complex projects, Luis seeks out innovative ways to reduce energy use, improve lab users' safety, and coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines. He has contributed to numerous award-winning projects by combining his passions for safety, sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
When he was in charge of our former Mexico City mechanical engineering department, Luis provided engineering leadership, hired new engineers, and reviewed local and international projects. Now based in our Houston office as a senior mechanical engineer, he pays his leadership skills forward and mentors younger engineers in the science and technology and mission-critical sectors.
Away from the world of engineering, Luis enjoys traveling to overseas beaches, exploring new places using his mountain bike, spending time with family and friends, and eating good food.
