Based in Yellowknife, Hyder is an electrical engineering manager of our Northern Canada offices. There, he manages teams and designs projects located throughout Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut.
Hyder brings over 35 years of experience to Stantec and has primarily focused on the design of commercial, industrial, and institutional building electrical systems. This includes power distribution, lighting and controls, telecommunications, generator systems, and fire alarm and security systems. He’s also worked with his team on the design of several multi-story buildings, airport buildings, educational, health care facilities, offices, water treatment plants, hybrid power plant, mine campuses, and a broadcasting station.
Outside of work, Hyder loves touring new countries and has travelled to almost 30 countries. He’s a great cook and enjoys cooking for large gatherings and sharing delicious meals with his friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Hyder also enjoys writing books—he spends all his free time writing and, so far, has completed 48 books.
