With over two decades of experience in environmental consulting, Brett is a leading voice in the assessment of contaminated sites and the management of projects which make those sites safe. His work includes projects in petroleum, defense, industrial, commercial, local government, private, and utilities sector.
As a specialist, Brett interprets complex environmental data to assess risk, develops clear remedial strategies, and helps clients balance regulatory obligations, cost, risk, technical feasibility, and future land use. He believes that working closely with clients, regulators, and project teams is the best way to create safe, efficient, and defensible outcomes.
Across his career, Brett is most proud of his time spent working on the remediation of the Ranger Uranium mine in Kakadu in Northern Australia where he project-managed a complex mine closure project. The ethos behind the project—leaving the site safe for those who walk after us—sums up his approach. He sees his role as dealing with legacy issues in a way that delivers the best outcomes for his clients, and the broader community.
When he’s not working, Brett spends his time with his family and plays sax in jazz, funk and groove bands across Brisbane. He is known as the Wayne Shorter of Remediation.
