Joe Rungee

Senior Water Resources Engineer

Photo of Joe

A water resources professional specializing in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, Joe works on stream restorations, channel designs, and tool development for engineering applications. He’s conducted data mining, meteorological station processing, and radar and remotely sensed data collection and processing to fill knowledge gaps during project pre-modeling phases.

In his PhD research, Joe developed statistical methods for distributing site-scale measures of evapotranspiration, the combined water loss from evaporation and transpiration, across the landscape using remotely sensed data. The methodologies used for his PhD research can be exploited for processing and manipulating data and information needed for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.

Although most of his recent non-work time has been taken up by home renovations, Joe loves fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and backpacking. He competes in triathlons, and he and his band released an album in 2019—with plans to release a second soon.
