Associate, Geotechnical Engineer

Photo of Justin

Justin is a geotechnical engineer and project manager with expertise in slope stability, dikes, dams, and tailings facilities. He’s worked on projects in a wide range of geological environments, from Canada and the US to Australia. He is especially proud of serving as geotechnical lead for the South Walker Creek Mine Bidgerly Tailings Facility Cells 2 and 3 dam raises.

For his master of engineering degree (2021), his final project was a comparison of slope stability methods for a slope failure remediation utilizing steel sheet piles. He has since expanded his expertise from working on slope stability remediation projects, to designing large scale flood-protection dikes, and both water and tailings retaining dams, as well as foundation designs for buildings and bridges. He is known for bringing a “yes we can help” mentality to working with his clients and enjoys travelling to meet clients and colleagues from various offices and locations.

Outside of work, he is an avid sports fan who enjoys golfing in the summer and playing and watching hockey in the winter. Justin enjoys the outdoors as much as he can, going to the lake in the summer and hunting in the fall. His creative side is satisfied through woodworking including building, refinishing, and restoring furniture.
