As Stantec’s chief human resources officer, Asifa is focused on cultivating a people-first culture that enables purpose-driven growth and supports the communities we serve. She is accountable for all human resources functions across the Company and works closely with her team to attract, retain, and develop highly-engaged professionals with technical expertise and curiosity to deliver meaningful results. Asifa believes that productivity, innovation, and sustainable growth are fueled by people who understand how their contributions connect to our long-term goals—and by a culture where great ideas are encouraged and translated into business success.
Asifa’s approach is shaped by her earlier leadership in our Environmental Services business, where she was a business leader for revenue growth and worked closely with clients across the oil and gas, mining, commercial, and public sectors. In that role, she developed a strong business-outcome mindset, and a deep understanding of what teams need to perform effectively in complex environments. She now brings that same perspective to our Human Resources strategy, with a clear focus on building high-performance people and teams and fostering a culture where development is a shared personal responsibility.
Outside of Stantec, Asifa has contributed to several organizations. She has served as a mentor with the Vancouver Board of Trade and WXN's Mentorship Programs and as a member of the executive committee for the Business Council of British Columbia. She has also completed board terms with the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s (BCIT) Alumni Association Board, the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies for British Columbia, and the BCIT Board of Governors. In 2015, Asifa was recognized with the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award.
