Mark is a project and group manager, water resource engineer, and geographical information system (GIS) professional. As a partner lead for the STARR II joint venture, Mark contributes to a production and technical services (PTS) contract with FEMA—providing engineering and mapping support to FEMA headquarters and regions across the country. He’s also involved in numerous dam evaluations and emergency action plan studies.
When Mark started with Stantec, he was a GIS intern labeling flood insurance rate maps (FIRM). Now, with his role on the FEMA PTS contract, he’s responsible for floodplain modeling and mapping, task and project management, community outreach and coordination, guidelines and standards development, and program level technical support. He’s also enjoyed the mentoring opportunities he’s found along the way.
Outside of work, you might find Mark hiking through the woods to disconnect and recharge or cooking big meals like pasta, roast, or stew that he can share with his family and friends.
