Project Archaeologist

Photo of Caitlin

As a project archaeologist, Caitlin is focused on conducting archaeological assessments across Ontario for educational institutions, government agencies, and private consulting firms. She is known for her experience with faunal analysis and recovery of human remains with associated historical material.

In faunal analysis, Caitlin determines the types of animals present as well as how humans of the site interacted with those animals through evidence of food preparation, the use of animal bones as tools, or methods of disposal. Recently, she did faunal analysis and authored four preliminary archaeological mitigation reports for the Richmond Street East Parking Lot project in Toronto, Ontario. This project included historical features from 19th century residents of Toronto.

Caitlin has volunteered for a non-profit organization that conducted archaeological investigations in the South Pacific with the goal of recovering World War II servicemen.
