Photo of John

As a senior principal architect in Stantec’s Toronto office, and a leading expert in healthcare architecture, John is active in the ongoing development and rollout of North American research-based best practices.

For over 35 years, John has played a key role in the planning and design of acute care hospitals, cancer treatment, laboratory research centers, ambulatory care, mental health, and long-term care facilities spanning Ontario, the Maritimes, Western Canada, and Bermuda. He believes, for clinicians and administrators to deliver the best care they can every day, he and his team need to be at the top of their game. John is a strong advocate for direct and highly effective engagement with clinical leadership, frontline staff, patients and families in the design process, to keep the focus on human experience.

John is certified by the Board of Regents of the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA), one of only a few Canadian architects to achieve this recognition.
