Karsten believes our approach must go beyond traditional engineering and construction methods. He’s passionate about collaborative work and exploring ways we can enhance the environments and communities we serve—both during concept design and through to delivery.
With 20 years in environmental management and community and stakeholder engagement across New Zealand and Australia, Karsten articulates the risks and opportunities to a wide audience of advisory, design, and construction stakeholders and communities. Projects that deliver environmental reparation and community connection fill his cup. Karsten’s work on award-winning projects in Australia and New Zealand has achieved diverse broader outcomes including local employment, industry upskilling, indigenous engagement, and enhanced revegetation schemes.
If he’s not out in the garden or adventuring with his two boys on the weekends, Karsten can be found kayaking on the coast or trail running in the forest trying to keep up with his wife.
