Alan has delivered development and infrastructure projects for over 20 years for public and private sector clients. Working in the residential, commercial, and retail sectors, he leads regeneration and community development projects across a wide range of technical disciplines.
Specialising in unlocking development opportunities, Alan relies on innovative thinking and joining the dots between strategic planning, transport, and regeneration. He’s an experienced expert witness and has represented developers at public inquiry, local plan inquiries, informal hearings, and examination. He manages the Taunton office and is leading our regional and client plans for the southwest, working with developers and stakeholders.
Alan is also a member of the Devon and Somerset Design Review Panel, providing independent advice on several development and regeneration projects. Outside of work, Alan supports his local community as a trustee of his local church hall and as a parochial church council member of his local church. When he does get free time, he enjoys walking, mountaineering, and climbing—hobbies which his two young sons are now starting to enjoy with him as well.
