Sean wanted to become an environmental engineer, but he found a home in the transportation field. However, he’s still realizing his dream of helping the environment. The electronic tolling systems he helps to design and implement improve air quality by improving traffic congestion and enhancing mobility.
His work includes implementing E-ZPass electronic tolling in New Hampshire and Ohio. These projects have improved the lives of customers and residents by providing safer, faster, and more convenient travel. Communities near the toll plazas also benefit from less traffic congestion and reduced fuel consumption which helps the environment.
When planning and designing electronic tolling systems, Sean knows that it is important to understand why and how often people travel to understand whether they would use an electronic toll transponder. He keeps an open mind to inventive and practical solutions to make sure the tolling systems work for the communities and the people who rely on them.
