Driven by the belief that a sustainable and resilient future depends on authentic Māori engagement, Trent combines technical expertise with cultural insight, bringing a holistic lens to problem‑solving that strengthens outcomes for clients and communities alike.
Trent is a Māori advisor and transportation engineer who supports our Transport team and wider business to deliver Hīkoi Tahi (journey together), our New Zealand business’ Māori strategy. Working at the intersection of engineering and te ao Māori (worldview), he helps build strong relationships with iwi (Māori tribal groups), supports cultural confidence across teams, and creates opportunities to meaningfully embed Māori perspectives in project delivery. He has contributed to major initiatives such as the Waitematā Harbour Connections project, where he supported collaboration between Waka Kotahi and eleven iwi groups across Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) through innovative engagement approaches.
Outside of work, Trent enjoys staying active through sport, deepening his knowledge of te Reo (Māori language) and tikanga Māori (protocol, customary law), and returning home to Te Tai Tokerau to reconnect with whānau (extended family).
