Gen is a civil engineer and project manager supporting Infrastructure Management and Pavement Engineering (IMPE) projects across Canada and the United States. She enjoys helping agencies find their weak spots in pavement management as these opportunities often lead to research focused projects.
As part of the IMPE team, Gen has experience working with falling weight deflectometer (FWD) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology. She also conducts subsurface investigations, develops pavement design and research, conducts life cycle cost analyses (LCCA), and works with pavement management systems (PMS). She’s had the unique opportunity to assist in quantifying damage to roadway assets caused by natural disaster events. In 2019, Gen had the pleasure of traveling to Doha, Qatar to help improve Ashghal’s pavement management program.
Outside of work, Gen is a novel enthusiast and amateur writer which she believes coincides with her ability to happily generate long reports, literature reviews, research papers, and manuals in her day-to-day work.
