Barrett brings strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the planning process to his role as a senior urban planner in our Ottawa office. He works with private and public sector clients to assist with planning projects and enjoys early involvement where he can share his perspective on matters of land use compatibility, urban design, and functionality.
With knowledge of Ottawa’s complex approvals process, Barrett provides a high level of service to his clients, whether they’re experienced developers or new to navigating the planning approvals process. He helps clients understand how to prepare and advance development projects to achieve their goals while striking an appropriate balance with other planning-related priorities. He enjoys helping stakeholders understand the complexities of the planning and development approvals process—which is instrumental in working to address public and agency related comments and concerns with new development.
When he’s away from his desk, Barrett enjoys going on family adventures, building furniture, gardening, and canoeing.
