Barrett brings strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the planning process to his role as an intermediate planner. Incorporating his understanding of built form, functionality, and aesthetics, he assists clients in efficiently carrying through projects that face complex challenges.
One of Barrett’s favorite elements of planning is working with the public. He enjoys helping people understand the complexities of the planning and development approvals process, which is instrumental in working to address public comments and concerns with new development. Barrett works with private and public sector clients to assist with their developments. With knowledge of Ottawa’s complex approvals process, he provides a high level of service to his clients. Barrett has a deep understanding of the city’s policy and regulatory framework and can explain and guide clients through the process to achieve their required approvals.
When away from his desk, Barrett enjoys building furniture, gardening, and canoeing on the lakes and waterways of Eastern Ontario.
