Mark Wagner, AIA
Vice President, Sector Leader, Arts & Culture
An award-winning architect, Mark brings extensive experience and insight to the design of cultural projects. His passion for thoughtful design solutions and ability to navigate complex challenges has placed him in the leadership role of some of our most noteworthy projects. These include the National September 11 Memorial Museum and the American Museum of Natural History’s Gilder Center and Hall of Gems and Minerals.
Mark centers his practice on experience-based design, shaping how people engage with space, narrative, context, and place. He guides multidisciplinary teams through complex challenges, delivering projects that are both rigorous and deeply resonant.
Mark’s work reflects the belief that architecture is more than a building—it’s a platform for connection between people, ideas, and communities. As the sector lead and design director for our Arts and Culture group, he advances this perspective across our global practice, championing design that strengthens institutions, enriches our cultural life.
