Jose has been working in the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry for over 14 years. His experience includes the research and development of high-efficiency solar cells (with the University of Toronto) as well as the implementation of over 100 projects and the installation of more than 1,300 megawatts.
He’s managed, optimized, and designed solar PV systems for remote communities in Ecuador and Kenya as well as residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar projects across the Americas and the Caribbean. In addition, for four years, Jose worked in the oil industry as a production and pipeline engineer. There, he gained experience working with other forms of energy and learned rigorous work safety practices.
At Queen’s University, Jose studied engineering physics, and at RMIT University he studied state-of-the-art sustainable energy technologies within an economic, socio-political, and environmental framework. In his spare time, Jose enjoys spending time with his family and training for competitive swimming.
