Tom’s work is heavily influenced by his drive to understand how different stakeholders actually experience taking the bus, walking to work, or choosing where to park. The real fun, he says, comes in balancing this people-first approach with analysis of the right data and the solutions almost find themselves. Tom brings 19 years of public- and private-sector experience in transportation planning and creation of demand-management strategies for healthcare, academic, and research campuses. The former senior transportation planner for Boston’s Longwood Medical Area, he recently completed a mobility plan at Louisiana State University, a transportation master plan at the University of North Texas, and a transportation demand-management plan at Penn State.
Tom grew up in London, riding “The Tube,” walking, cycling and hopping on buses. Today he lives on Boston’s South Shore and enjoys playing guitar, tennis, coaching soccer and spending time with his wife, three children and four pets.
