The 6 Parramatta Square workplace fitout consists of approximately 45,000 square metres (484,376 square feet) over 15 levels, with our team providing sustainability consulting to Built Australia, the head contractor.
Through periodic reviews of the Green Star points with Built, we produced detailed greenhouse gas emissions modeling, which allowed us to identify opportunities to optimize the number of points available under the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Credit. Suggestions included shared access to the end-of-trip facilities, access to water efficient bathroom fixtures and fittings, and best practice waste room access. This would all help increase the potential for the recycling of waste streams.
Other work included NABERS Energy predictive modeling to guide the project towards a design capable of achieving a 5.5 Star NABERS Energy Tenancy rating, when in operation. Features such as automated blinds, efficient air conditioning systems, and automated lighting control are helping to further reduce energy usage.
We also completed the submission templates and coordinated the submission from start to finish.
While the building had an original target of a 5.5 Star NABERS Energy Tenancy rating and a 5 Star Green Star Interiors v1.2 rated outcome, the sustainability refinements assisted the project in achieving a 6 Star Green Star Interiors v1.2 rating.
