Albany Motorsport Park - Stage 1

The City of Albany and the Great Southern Motorplex Group set out to create a new multiuse facility and home for many national level motorsport groups. Delivered over multiple stages, the Albany Motorsport Park will consist of a world class 2.4-kilometre (1.5-mile) motocross track, 3.6-kilometre (2.2-mile) multiuse racetrack, and driver training areas spread over a 192-hectare (474-acre) site. The park will serve a variety of users and meet current and future safety requirements.

They commissioned us to undertake the detailed design of the internal access road and external road Intersection, and subsequently appointed us as the contract superintendent for Stage 1 (motorcross track and site access infrastructure). Not without challenges, this stage required us to address site constraints related to groundwater and wetland protection as well as onsite material sourcing complexities.

With Stage 1 complete, the venue now provides a long-awaited home for the Albany Motocross Club and is set to host national and local club motocross competitions soon.
