Ardency Kennedy Place, Richmond - Engineering Services

Keyton, formerly Lendlease Retirement Living, set out to create a top-tier retirement living development in the heart of suburban Richmond. The facility will span over ten levels and boast deluxe hotel-quality amenities in its communal areas, along with two levels of basement car parking. Keyton engaged our engineering team to collaborate closely with the development team to help mitigate any adverse effects on the surrounding area as well as provide buildings engineering services.

Our key considerations included the treatment of acoustics, sustainability, and precinct servicing including infrastructure and utilities. We also addressed various challenges presented by the existing site's conditions including adaptive reuse of partially built basement retaining walls and contamination issues. Additionally, we equipped each apartment with a range of automation initiatives to enhance ease of use and energy efficiency.

Aligned with a high level of sustainability initiatives, the development not only provides a luxurious living space for retirees but also contributes positively to the existing community and environment. The project is targeting a Green Star Communities rating and has a strong focus on social sustainability, community programs for activated living, and peace of mind for retirement living.
