Servicing in tight situations allows for an award-winning architectural solution without a large financial impact
Carrington Street is a residential development in Hamilton Hill, Western Australia that offers low-cost housing. Units are a humble size and were finished to deliver well-designed, affordable housing that maximizes yield while offering high quality spaces on a tight budget.
We took a multidisciplinary approach when engaged to execute the client briefing, schematic design and development, documentation, and construction phases. This included electrical, fire engineering, hydraulics, mechanical, structural, and sustainability services. Significant coordination of in-ground services was required to achieve the authority metering arrangements such as meter banks and condensed services. Our multi-disciplinary approach allowed for the high level of integration needed to fit a large volume of pipes within small corridors between and alongside buildings, as the sections were very detailed and required arrangement alongside other services.
The accomplishment of servicing in tight situations allowed for an attractive architectural solution without a large financial impact. Working as a team to come up with cost-effective engineering solutions delivered a beautiful final product that offers economic living options.
