Cockburn Coast Urban Redevelopment Project
The Cockburn Coast Urban Redevelopment is an urban renewal plan that aims to turn an area of mostly brownfield sites into a new community servicing 10,000 residents and over 5,000 dwellings. The area’s former uses included jetty and abattoir facilities as well as a power station and rail siding yards. The development’s goal? Low and high-rise apartments as well as a mix of single and terrace dwellings that will draw new residents into a vibrant, growing community.
The master plan was spread over three regional structure plan areas, and we were brought in as lead engineer. Our job? The management and coordination of structure plan documentation to ensure regional civil servicing capabilities are considered within their respective plans. These works have included programming, budgeting, and documenting developer contribution costs. The first stage relocated water and power infrastructure and redesigned the Cockburn Road intersection.
Once completed, the Cockburn Urban Redevelopment will create a community that provides exciting residential options in a thriving coastline community.
