Fujitsu Data Centres - Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth

When Fujitsu Australia wanted to achieve Uptime Institute Tier III and Tier IV certification (an internationally-recognised data center performance standard) in their Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth facilities, they needed a multi-site engineering services program. Our localised teams supported a program of works to implement critical infrastructure upgrades to all three sites. The catch? We had to accomplish it with no data centre downtime of their operational facilities.

We carried out major design considerations to ensure each stage of the project was staggered to allow for business continuity, and we identified and evaluated pre-existing conditions to determine the requirements, best upgrades, and top solutions that would support the UTI Certification. One especially critical step included the client’s brief for a cost-effective electrical distribution. We designed an electrical distribution system that utilized and integrated with the existing Diesel Rotary UPS (DRUPS) system, with additional capacity supported by static uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

With upgrades to electrical and mechanical services, site visits, and comprehensive coordination, our redesign services helped Fujitsu Australia achieve a confirmed Uptime Institute Tier III compliance—and Data Centre services were uninterrupted throughout.
