Legacy Way

Here’s some of what we did on the Legacy Way transport infrastructure project, a National Infrastructure Award winning project. We provided project and systems management including program scheduling, safety in design, value engineering, design review and approval, risk management and quality systems. We also delivered hydrology and geotechnical design, acoustic design as well as environmental approval specialists, and traffic management and construction support.

With bridge and tunnel work a part of the project, scheduling was one of the biggest challenges. Our team blended experience and a collaborative spirit with effective communication and innovative scheduling tools to deliver significant project events with the least interruption. For example—demolition and construction of the Inner Northern Busway bridge extension was completed over a seven-day Christmas closure, innovative design of a Linkwater main enabled water diversion in a 48-hour shut down protecting the tunnel from flooding, and detailed design of the work site allowed tunnel boring machine extraction in a highly congested environment.

The Legacy Way project was a special kind of challenge engaging such a wide range of technical capabilities with management, scheduling and communication skills. We are proud to have played this role helping the City of Brisbane provide better transportation infrastructure to its citizens and visitors.
