State-of-the-art, modern design sets a new standard for aged care services in Vermont South
Livingstone Gardens in Melbourne is a new four-storey aged care facility for Blue Cross, offering dementia and high-care residential, and daycare services in one expansive building. Stantec provided structural, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic consultancy.
The premium facility has palatial interiors, a grand entrance and dazzling glass lift wells wrapped in a green wall. The multi-winged, self-contained floorplates host 168 beds, multiple dining, lounge and sitting areas, hairdressing and medical suites, plus commercial kitchens and laundry operations.
We optimised the central plant servicing strategy and building management system to integrate the electrical, communications, security, public address, background music and nurse call systems. Working closely with the client’s IT team we provided an integrated electronic care and entertainment platform, setting a new standard for future BlueCross projects. The platform facilitates flexible and responsive service provision, from full 24-hour care to aging in place services.
