Logan Water Partnership
For more than 15 years, we’ve partnered with Logan City Council to deliver one of Australia’s largest and most successful water infrastructure programs. Now in its third generation, the Logan Water Partnership plans, designs, and delivers essential water, wastewater, and recycled water services for one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions.
The city is expected to reach more than 667,000 residents by 2046. That growth puts pressure on water and wastewater networks. Working with Council and industry partners, we are helping deliver over US$100 million (AUD$150 million) of works and services on Council works each year. Our role in the partnership allows us to bring the full breadth of our water systems expertise to the table—from planning and designing reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment plant upgrades to renewing local infrastructure, such as water reticulation mains, and incorporating nature‑based solutions to build a more resilient network. We use a collaborative, planning-led approach that improves cost efficiency and strengthens system reliability, supporting a sustainable water source for communities in the region.
A key part of the current program is the US$200 million (AUD$300 million) Yarrabilba and Park Ridge wastewater servicing scheme, anchored by the new Chambers Flat Wastewater Treatment Plant. This plant will serve 60,000 equivalent people (EP) and is central to Logan’s future. We’re providing planning, design, and delivery support for this city-shaping project.
To date, the Logan Water Partnership has received over 30 industry awards, including an award for first in Australia water treatment solution (which harnesses the power of sun and salt for remote locations), Cedar Grove Environmental Centre (a treatment solution providing a net environmental benefit for the catchment), and Australia’s first biosolids gasification facility (which is heat energy neutral and transforms sewage sludge into a safe biochar).
